PAMELA REID

A background in advertising (Australian & UK), followed by a 25 year career in music and entertainment management, was the springboard for Pamela to pursue her passion for visual arts.

Working across several mediums, she considers her art observational, seeing through a lens, influenced by light (Pamela was given her first camera when she was ten years old). When life drawing, she responds to gesture, the impact of light on tonal qualities and the body’s framework. Similarly, Pamela prefers painting en plein air to depict the movement of daylight on landscapes.

Recently, she has been “urban abstract sketching a name Pamela has given her quirky perceptions of the old and new, the juxtaposition in architectural history of her neighbourhood surrounds – our urban landscape.  Similarly, when travelling, Pamela sketches and paints, absorbing her surrounds while enriching the experience.

She also runs introductory workshops in Life Drawing and Abstract Drawing. Pamela’s artworks are in private collections in Australia, Europe and USA.
