PAMELA REID

A background in advertising (Australian & UK), followed by a 25-year career in music and entertainment management, was the springboard for Pamela to pursue her passion for visual arts.

Working across several mediums, she considers her art observational, as if seeing through a lens, influenced by light. When life drawing, Pamela responds to gesture and the impact of light on tonal qualities and the body’s framework. When travelling, Pamela sketches and paints en plein air to depict the movement of daylight on landscapes, absorbing her surrounds while enriching the experience.

Recently, she has been “urban abstract sketching a name she has given her quirky perceptions of the old and new, the juxtaposition in architectural history of her neighbourhood surrounds – our urban landscape.

Her 2024 exhibition “Prisms of Time” at Plume Gallery, led to Pamela publishing her art and local architectural history book of the same title. The book was launched, along with her latest exhibition, ‘Wanderings” at our gallery in 2026.

Pamela also runs introductory workshops in Life Drawing and Abstract Drawing. Her artworks are in private collections in Australia, Europe and USA.
