MELISSA LAZARIDIS
Melissa Lazaridis is a Melbourne artist whose work is underpinned by her autobiographical experiences and her exploration with disconnection and the commonality of all life instinctively searching to make connections to survive. Her multidisciplinary practice reveals these personal themes both conceptually using recurring subject matter dealing with the human brain combined with the seemingly repetitive formula and visual similarities and functions of the natural world. Her work is informed by her continuing interest in the scientific exploration and research of the human brain and the way it processes, interprets, perceives and responds to experiences delivered via various faculties of the human senses. Her most recent work SYNAPTICA, an installation and Artist in Conversation was held at the Annex in Wyndham in March 2024.
