Ben Storch had been working with metal and sculpture in the UK for 15 years prior to relocating to Melbourne in 2011 with his Australian wife. After experimenting with jewellery and metalsmithing techniques in the US, Germany and France, Ben eventually studied at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham, where he carried out an in-depth research project into materialising fluid, minimal surfaces in sheet metal. Besides drawing inspiration from mathematical diagrams and visualisations of fluid and celestial dynamics, his search for form was equally inspired by Yoga, Tai Chi and a desire to engage with the world in non-dualistic ways.
