Curated Aboriginal Art Collection

Curated Aboriginal Art Collection

Plume Galleries owner and director Artist Katrina McKeon has been painting for over 30 years. With some of her most important growth periods being while working in indigenous communities, she has always been inspired by nature and the outback.

In the early stages of her career, Katrina would spend a week per month working in indigenous communities. Katrina's time spent in these communities has seen her develop a true love and appreciation for Australian Aboriginal Artwork.

Plume Gallery now has a collection of stunning Aboriginal Artwork by over 35 incredible Australian Aboriginal Artists available to view and purchase online and at Plume Gallery South Melbourne.

Featured Artists include Raymond Walters Penangke a long-time close personal friend to Katrina, George Hairbrush Tjungurrayi, Beatrice Gibson, Emily Pwerle, Jeannie Mills Pwerle, Kudditji, Minnie Pwerle and many more incredible artists.

The stories told by the Artists in these paintings are quite extraordinary, with themes of family, nature and tradition, there is so much to learn and uncover in every single one of these marvellous pieces.

If you would like to view the collection, head online to Plumegallery.com or head in-store to our South Melbourne Gallery location at 3-7 Albert Place South Melbourne.
